Depart Tofino and head offshore to discover the wildlife that frequents the offshore waters of Clayoquot Sound.
Tour length varies depending on sightings, weather, skipper discretion, and other factors.
About
From our dock in Tofino, we’ll head up to 25 nautical miles offshore in search of marine mammals and birdlife that are found towards the continental shelf. Expect to encounter pelagic bird species such as black-footed albatross, various shearwater species and storm-petrels. These offshore waters are home to a variety of marine mammals, from humpback whales and fin whales to dolphins, porpoise and fur seals – each tour is different and the thrill is in discovering what is out there each time we head out.
While it is hard to predict exactly which marine mammal species and specific birds will be viewable on any given day, we will strive to provide accurate information about what to expect, or hope for, depending on the time of year. If you have target species in mind, or are looking for additional information, please reach out to us at [email protected] and we will be in touch to answer any questions.

Our Zodiacs offer a chance to experience the thrill of a fast-paced boat ride on our way to view the diverse amount of wildlife off West Coast Vancouver Island. Some of the features of our Zodiacs include:
* 12 Passenger vessels
* Comfortable forward-facing seats
* Protective floatation suits, gloves and toques (beanies) provided
* Emergency Marine toilet
* Open-air, aiding unobstructed viewing of birdlife in flightNOTE: While Zodiacs are a fun way to experience a whale watching tour, they’re not suitable for everyone. We do not recommend this tour to anyone with a history of serious medical conditions. These include, but are not limited to, anyone who is pregnant, those with back or neck problems, osteoporosis, incontinence or recent surgery. There is a small marine toilet aboard the zodiac, but guests requiring frequent bathroom visits are not suited to this tour. Anyone under the height of 4’8″ (142cm) is also unable to join our Zodiac tours.

While we love sharing the experience of watching whales and other wildlife with our guests, we also follow guidelines to ensure we’re not encroaching on or disturbing the wildlife in its natural habitat.
Due to government regulations, we do not approach closer than 100 metres to all marine mammals with the exception of Transient (Bigg’s) Killer Whales which we do not approach closer than 200 metres.
Be sure to bring binoculars for close-up views of these amazing animals. -
We require an active email address and phone number so that we can discuss any changes of the departure time or date as appropriate. Due to the nature of the tour, we require great weather conditions to head offshore. It is best to be available a day either side of the tour to allow flexibility on the date. We reserve the right to cancel the tour if the weather conditions do not allow us to deliver the level of experience we are striving for.

Our Whale Watching, Bear Watching, Pelagic Wildlife and Hot Springs Cove tours have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If any cancellations are received, including a reduction in the passenger numbers, within 24 hours of the tour departure then the full amount of the cancelled reservation will be charged to the credit card used to secure the booking.
